The Black Widow 950 is the the first of a series of new folding quad / X8 frames from Vulcan. This version includes the distinctive Vulcan Z arms all round, giving clear unparalleledcamera view in all directions, even during forward, sideways or reverse flight. The frame can be easily folded to a manageable size for transportation.
The folding mechanism is quick and simple and involves tightening / loosening of one hex bolt with nylock nut for each arm. This will soon be replaced with a tool free click and go system. There is also an ingenious safety latch mechanism ensuring that were the folding bolt to loosen during flight, or even come out completely, there is no possibility of the arm folding up in flight. This safety feature is unique to Vulcan frames, and a ‘must have’ safety addition to any frame that can be easily folded.
